NSCDC, DSS REITERATE PARTNERSHIP FOR ENHANCED SECURITY IN ANAMBRA STATE

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC )and the Department of State, Services (DSS) have restated their commitment to maintain the ongoing partnership to ensure enhanced security coverage and operational success in Anambra State.

This indication was established on Wednesday 25th of September, 2024 when Steve O. Ojelade PhD, fsi+, mni, the newly deployed State Director of Security ( SDS) Department of State Services Anambra State paid a familiarization visit to Commandant Maku Olatunde, at the NSCDC State Command Headquarters Awka.

A statement by SC Okadigbo Edwin, Head of Media and Tactical Ops NSCDC Anambra State Command, said Maku Olatunde , the State Commandant assured the DSS State Director of the maximum support and cooperation of the Corps under his watch, especially during joint operations and also in the area of intelligence sharing.

Comdt.Maku expressed optimism of a functional collaboration in addressing operational exigencies, reiterating that the NSCDC will continue to avail the DSS the much needed synergy amongst other security agencies in the State.

He reaffirmed NSCDC’s commitment to collaborating with DSS, assuring the State Director of the Corps willingness to oblige any request from them and foster a spirit of cooperation essential in tackling modern security threats.

Earlier, Steve Ojelade, the State Director of Security , DSS Anambra State, harped on the need for synergy among security agencies hence the need to familiarize himself with sister security agencies in the State.

“I am glad to be here this afternoon. I have come to perform the ritual that I am supposed to call on you formally to announce my arrival to the State.

“My visit is just to build on the existing working relationship between us. DSS and NSCDC have a strong synergy especially in intelligence sharing, which hope should be sustained” he said.

While commending NSCDC for being a good partner in the fight against insecurity, he called for more robust collaborative efforts in the pursuit of both agencies individual mandates.
