Police raid kidnapper’s hideout, recover AK-47 rifle in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command, in a joint operation with local security outfits, raided a criminal hideout, resulting in the neutralization of a suspected kidnapper during a gun battle.

The operation also led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle and five rounds of live ammunition.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, and made available to Nigerian Tribune Online, it was confirmed that the suspect was neutralized during a raid on a kidnappers’ hideout in Ngurore, Yola South Local Government Area.

According to the statement, “The operation was part of the command’s strategic efforts to clamp down on criminal activities in the state.”

“The criminals, armed with offensive weapons, attempted to resist arrest by opening fire upon sighting our operatives. However, our gallant officers returned fire, resulting in one suspect being neutralized while others managed to escape.”

The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, commended the officers and men of the command, as well as their stakeholders, for their courageous actions.

Emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in ensuring the safety and security of Adamawa State residents, the spokesperson noted that efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects and dismantle criminal hideouts across the state.
