Bauchi Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, has signed two Executive Orders aimed at combating child trafficking and promoting telecommunications development in the state.
The Executive Orders, which were signed into law on Tuesday, are designed to safeguard children from abduction and trafficking, as well as provide ease of access for telecom operators to lay fibre cables across the state.
According to Governor Mohammed, the Executive Orders are a decisive action to protect vulnerable citizens, particularly children, from the scourge of trafficking. He emphasized the importance of community trust and insurance in preventing child abduction and trafficking.
The Governor also explained that the Executive Order granting telecom operators ease of access to lay fibre cables is aimed at promoting telecommunications infrastructure development, attracting investment, and improving connectivity in the state.
He expressed hope that the implementation of the Executive Orders would improve Bauchi State’s ranking in terms of ease of doing business, attract more investment opportunities, and boost the economy.
The development comes after recent incidents of child abduction and trafficking in the state, highlighting the need for decisive action to protect vulnerable citizens.
