Wegmans is recalling its frozen, fully cooked breaded chicken breast nuggets after bone fragments were discovered in some of the meat.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service issued a public health alert for the product on January 29, 2025, following multiple consumer complaints.
The recall, initiated on January 24, affects 46-oz. plastic packages of “Wegmans Family Pack Fully Cooked Breaded Chicken Breast with Rib Meat.”
The affected product has the establishment number “P-33944” inside the USDA mark of inspection and a best-used-by date of July 26, 2025. The UPC on the back of the bag is 0-77890-25210-9.
The recalled chicken nuggets were sold in eight states: Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, along with Washington, D.C.
Though the product has not been in stores for months, some customers may have kept the frozen nuggets for later use. While no injuries have been reported, the USDA advises consumers to immediately dispose of the product or return it to Wegmans for a refund.
