China, VON seek stronger economic, academic exchange

The China Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, and the Director General of Voice of Nigeria, Jibrin Ndace have called for a stronger bilateral relationship between Nigeria and China in economic and academic ties that will be beneficial to each country.

Speaking separately at an event tagged ‘Civilizational Exchange and Mutual Learning between China and Nigeria’ the Chinese Ambassador emphasized the importance of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, which has already yielded significant benefits for both countries.

Ambassador Yu’s call for stronger bilateral economic relationships is a significant step towards unlocking the full potential of China-Nigeria cooperation.

He said ” Last year September President Ahmed Tinubu paid a state visit to China which during the visit the two presidents agreed to elevate the bilateral relationship on comprehensive partnership which is high level of people-to-people exchange.

” We believed that civilization brings about people-to-people exchange of ideas in terms of learning from each other, economic growth, academic institutions building allying with each other.

” We believed that through this kind of seminars and exchanges, the two sides can increase their mutual foundations for credible cooperation.

The Ambassador stressed the partnership between Abuja University and China University to establish computer institute will play a significant role in enhancing civilizational tendencies between the countries.

On his part, the VON DG who is the Keynote speaker at the event pinpointed the roles of media in harmonizing cultural and academic ties between the two countries.

He said; “The media remains the key component in predicting in the cultural heritages in deepening the relationship.

Mr. Ndace revealed that they are prioritizing content sharing with the rest of the world in enhancing peaceful coexistence and cultural activities of such country.

The Head of Department of Political and International Relations Department at the University of Abuja, Prof. Sherrif Ghali Ibrahim stated that the programme is beneficial to students in widening their knowledge scope with regards to General studies.

He said; “The students are just coming up and this programme will complement GST with regards to Nigerian people and culture learning about Chinese people and culture.

The Organizer, Mr. Raphael Oni explained that the programme is geared towards strengthening the relationship between Nigeria and the rest of the globe.
