The Secretary of the apex advisory organ in Lagos State, the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Alhaji Mutiu Are, has said that post-impeachment happening within the Lagos Assembly will be resolved in a family way.
Are stated this while reacting to the claim by the impeached speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa that his removal was unconstitutional.
Obasa during a reception held for him by his supporters in Lagos on Saturday contended his removal as Speaker, arguing that it is politically motivated and not in line with due process.

Speaking to the development, Are said, “Whatever is currently going on in Lagos politics is a family affair. As elders, I’m not supposed to be taken a side.
We would resolve everything because the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) being the apex advisory organ, has its own mechanism in resolving matters like this.
By virtue of my position as the secretary of the body, I’m not given an express permission to speak to the matter. But I can tell you that we’ll resolve it in a family way.”
