Social media personality, Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has publicly endorsed Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, for the 2027 Lagos governorship election.
In a video posted on Instagram, VeryDarkMan expressed his support for Seyi, stating that his potential governorship would signal a shift in Nigeria’s politics, allowing younger people to take over political offices.
At 39 years old, Seyi will be 42 in 2027, making him potentially the youngest governor in Lagos’ history.
VeryDarkMan believes Seyi plays a similar brand of politics as his father, strategically positioning loyalists in key roles.
He suspects Seyi already has a network of loyalists in place, mostly younger individuals who are easier to control.
According to VeryDarkMan, Seyi’s governorship could lead to a new wave of young politicians emerging in Lagos and beyond.
“If Seyi Tinubu decides to run for governorship… I’m going to campaign for him. I don’t do politics but I’ll do politics because of Seyi Tinubu.
“Based on my calculation, Seyi Tinubu is a bridge to get something that I want, something that I believe will make Nigeria work,” he wrote.
While neither Seyi nor his father has publicly confirmed his intention to run, several groups have already endorsed Seyi for the governorship.
VeryDarkMan’s endorsement is the latest in a growing list of supporters backing Seyi for the top job in Lagos.
