The Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) has denied allegations that its medical staff removed a patient’s womb without her consent in 2017.

The patient had made the claim on a radio program in Kaduna, sparking widespread outrage.

However, the hospital’s Chief Medical Director, Dr. Abdurrahman Abba Sheshe, has vehemently denied the allegations, describing them as “baseless and damaging” to the hospital’s reputation.

Dr. Sheshe explained that the patient had undergone a life-saving surgery in 2012 due to complications during pregnancy, and that consent for the procedure had been obtained.

The hospital has forwarded the case details to the Federal Ministry of Health and other relevant agencies, demonstrating its commitment to transparency.

The hospital’s management has pledged to provide full cooperation with relevant authorities to ensure that the truth prevails.
