Ex-Gov urges Nigerians to support Tinubu amid challenges

Former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel, has called on Nigerians to set aside political, ethnic, and religious differences and throw their full support behind President Bola Tinubu as the nation navigates mounting socioeconomic challenges.

According to a statement made available to PUNCH Online on Monday, Emmanuel made the appeal during an interactive session with journalists at the Pre-Service of Nine Lessons, and Carol held on Sunday at the United Evangelical Church, Surulere, Lagos.

He stressed that the country is at a critical point and requires collective effort to avoid deeper crises.

According to the former governor, only unity and a shared sense of national responsibility can help Nigeria overcome its present difficulties.

He said Nigerians must resist the temptation to dwell on the issues that divide them and instead focus on giving the President the support needed to pursue solutions.

“This is not the time to dwell on factors that create divisions, the issues that expand the frontiers of our disagreements and further undermine our national unity,” Emmanuel said.

He urged citizens across party lines and religious backgrounds to “pull together to confront our common enemies” by providing every necessary support that will enable Tinubu to tackle problems hindering the nation’s progress.

Emmanuel also encouraged Tinubu to remain steadfast in advancing the policies and vision that would help Nigeria overcome its current challenges and achieve good governance. He noted that with unity and determined leadership, the country can still realize its full potential.
