The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command, Commandant Maku Olatunde, on Monday, 22nd June 2026, paid a working visit to His Royal Highness, Engr. Augustine Chiedu Emelobe, Eze Okpoko II, the Traditional Ruler of Oba in Idemili South Local Government Area, Anambra State.

During the visit, Commandant Maku expressed profound appreciation to the traditional institution for its support to the NSCDC. He noted that traditional institutions remain critical partners in the maintenance of peace and the security of Critical National, State, and Local Government Assets and Infrastructure.
Commandant Maku reiterated the Corps’ determination to work with community leaders and other stakeholders to reduce crime and criminality to the barest minimum across the state. He stressed the urgency of a collaborative, structured mechanism that would not only respond to security threats but anticipate and neutralise them before they escalate.
The NSCDC Anambra State helmsman described effective security as one which thrives on cooperation, trust, and the timely exchange of information between the NSCDC and the communities they serve.
He assured the Royal Father of the Command’s readiness to sustain a cordial and productive relationship with the palace.
In his response, His Royal Highness, Engr. Augustine Chiedu Emelobe, assured the NSCDC of his palace’s continued support and cooperation. The Royal Father noted that the palace would maintain the robust working relationship it enjoys with the Command.
The visit culminated in a strategic partnership agreement aimed at strengthening security across every corridor of Oba, in Idemili South LGA and the State at large.
