Nasarawa Governorship 2027: North Zone Demands Ticket

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, political leaders in the Nasarawa North Senatorial District of Nasarawa State have demanded that the zone be allowed to produce the next governor of the state after Governor Abdullahi Sule.
Our correspondent reports that Governor Sule, who is concluding his second term in office, hails from Akwanga Local Government Area of the state in the Nasarawa North Senatorial District.
In a communiqué on Tuesday, the political leaders, under the aegis of the Nasarawa North Political Consultative Forum, stated that the demand was made in the interest of equity, fairness, and justice.
The communique was signed by the convener, John Danboyi, and the co-convener, Salihu Alizaga, on behalf of all the members of the forum.
The forum urged all major political parties to zone their governorship tickets to the Nasarawa North Senatorial District for the 2027 general elections, to uphold and promote the unity and harmonious development of the state.
The communique read, “That the 2027 governorship position be zoned to the Nasarawa North Senatorial District in the interest of equity, fairness, and justice. This position is premised on the fact that Nasarawa North Senatorial District was the last to be considered in the political cycle spanning from 1999 to 2027.
“The Forum urges all major political parties to zone their governorship tickets to Nasarawa North Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections to uphold and promote the unity and harmonious development of our dear state.
“The Forum encourages all politicians and political actors from the Nasarawa North Senatorial District to align their ambitions and interests with this collective position.”
The forum urged indigenes of Nasarawa North Senatorial District to unite and work together toward the realisation of the goal.
“The Forum urges all leaders of the zone to reach out to leaders and well-wishers from Nasarawa West and Nasarawa South Senatorial Districts to extend their goodwill and support to Nasarawa North in 2027 to unite our state for a brighter future for all our communities,” the communique added.
