Borno ADC Chair Apologises for Rejecting Committees

The Chairman of the African Democratic Congress in Borno State, Umar Bolori, has apologised over his rejection of the party’s constituted transitional and registration committee in the state, acknowledging his actions as an “error”.
The chairman made the apology during a press briefing in Maiduguri, the state capital on Tuesday evening.
PUNCH online on January 13 reported that the party in the state disassociated itself from the Transitional and Registration committees allegedly set up by one of its chieftains, Kashim Imam.
Bolori, while addressing newsmen at the time, described Imam’s committees as “political jobbers” who were out to infiltrate the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
However, the party chairman on Tuesday described his actions as errors, while apologising to Imam and the party’s national leaders.
He said, “I am here ro set some records straight in our great party, ADC in Borno State. You may wish to recall that on 12th of January, 2026, I addressed our party’s national leaders, state stakeholders, and the general members of the party on serious allegations, misconducts and irreconcillable differences.
“Therefore, following series of meetings and hollistic reconciliations, we were made to understand that we acted in error, and hence, we apologise to our national party leaders, particularly, H.E Kahim Ibrabim Imam and pledge our loyalty to him in the interest of our party and the general party members.”
The chairman further declared and aknowledged the legitimacy of the transitional and registration committees.
“On this note, we officially recognise and accept the innagurated state transitional committe under the leadership Alhaji Ali Bukar Wurge and the registration committe under the leadership of Peter Biya accordingly,” he stated.
He urged all party members and stakeholders to support the commitees in carrying out their mandates.
“I want to use this opportunity to inform our party supporters that by next week, we are going to start our membership registration excercise. We urge everyone to participate in the voters registration also,” he noted.
