Jandor launches website for Lagos 2027 APC primaries

Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has hinted at his intention to contest the 2027 Lagos State governorship election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

The indication emerged from a campaign flyer he uploaded on Wednesday bearing the inscription, “Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran Jandor for Governor, Lagos State 2027.”

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Jandor also announced the launch of his campaign website, describing it as part of his preparation for the APC governorship primaries.

“I am excited to announce the official launch of www……the digital heartbeat of our journey towards the 2027 Lagos State APC Governorship Primaries,” he wrote.

“This isn’t just a website; it’s an open civic space. As I seek the nomination of our party, I’m opening the doors for every Lagosian to interrogate our ideas, contribute to our vision, and help shape the policy agenda for a more prosperous state.”

While acknowledging the possibility of other aspirants within the party, Jandor said his attention remained on party leadership and Lagos residents.

“While I acknowledge there may be other qualified aspirants within our party, who are yet to personally express their ambition, my focus remains on the leadership and members of the party as well as the people of Lagos,” he stated.

Calling for collective responsibility, he added, “Real change is a shared responsibility. Visit the site today to see our roadmap for an inclusive Lagos and join the conversation. Let’s build the Lagos we all deserve.”

Jandor contested the 2023 Lagos governorship election as the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, with Nollywood actress Funke Akindele as his running mate.

He lost the election , finishing third behind the APC and Labour Party.

He officially returned to the APC in March after resigning from the PDP, citing indiscipline and widespread anti-party activities.

However, his return attracted criticism, with the Deputy Chairman of the PDP in Lagos, Tai Benedict, alleging that Jandor was planted by the APC to destabilise the opposition party.
