Jetour bets on Dashing to grow Nigeria market share

Nigeria’s fast-growing compact SUV market is witnessing renewed competition as Jetour intensifies its push with the Dashing model, following its recognition as 2025 Car of the Year.

The five-seater crossover, which recently entered the Nigerian auto space, is drawing interest from urban motorists and long-distance drivers, signalling a fresh challenge to established brands in one of the industry’s most competitive segments.

A statement from the firm stated that visually, the Jetour Dashing makes a confident impression, with a wide grille, sculpted body lines, and sleek LED lighting that give it a bold road presence. Its aerodynamic profile and assertive front fascia allow it to stand out on both city streets and open highways.

Inside, the SUV offers a modern and well-appointed cabin. A panoramic sunroof enhances the sense of space, while a clean, technology-focused dashboard is centred around a 15.6-inch touchscreen supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, providing seamless connectivity and intuitive control.

Performance is another key selling point. According to Jetour Nigeria, the Dashing is available with 1.5-litre and 1.6-litre turbocharged engine options, delivering up to 145kW and 290Nm of torque. Paired with six- or seven-speed dual-clutch transmissions, the powertrain delivers smooth acceleration, efficient cruising, and confident overtaking, with outputs reaching up to 197hp.

Ride quality is supported by selectable drive modes—Eco, Normal, and Sport—allowing drivers to adapt easily to varying road conditions. The dual-clutch transmission ensures smooth gear changes, making the SUV suitable for daily commuting as well as extended road trips.

Safety features are comprehensive, as the Dashing comes equipped with front and rear airbags, along with advanced driver-assistance systems such as automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind-spot detection, and collision alerts.

A 360-degree surround-view camera with 2D and 3D displays, supported by a 540-degree parking sensor system, enhances parking and low-speed manoeuvrability. Additional features such as an electronic parking brake, auto-hold, and automatic door locking further improve driver confidence.

Comfort and convenience are also emphasised, with features including wireless charging, smart entry, push-button start, remote engine start, and voice command functionality. Automatic climate control with rear vents and an air purification system improves cabin comfort, while an eight-speaker surround sound system delivers immersive audio.

Power-adjustable front seats with heating, ventilation, memory, and lumbar support, as well as a power tailgate, add a premium touch to the vehicle.

Backing the product is Jetour Nigeria’s growing after-sales network, which offers trained technicians, genuine spare parts, and structured maintenance support. This focus on after-sales service, combined with warranty coverage, is expected to reinforce buyer confidence.

Rolling on 20-inch alloy wheels, the Jetour Dashing blends design, technology, and value. As Jetour continues to expand its footprint in Nigeria, the Dashing is positioning itself as a new benchmark in the compact SUV segment, offering style, performance, and dependable ownership support at a competitive price point.
