The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ondo State Command, says it recorded no fewer than 2,550 cases and resolved 345 cases through Alternative Dispute Resolution between January and December 2025.
NSCDC State Commandant, Mr Oluyemi Ibiloye, made this known on Wednesday in Akure during a media parley organised by the command on the scorecard for 2025 and operational plans for 2026.
Ibiloye said the cases recorded comprised vandalism of transformers, cybercrime, illegal mining, human trafficking, malicious damage of farm by herders, robbery, stealing prepaid meters and illegal retail of gas, among others.
The commandant said the Anti-Human Trafficking, Irregular Migration and Gender Unit handled 101 cases and the intelligence,
According to him, the investigation department handled 498 cases with 551 suspects apprehended, while 31 of the cases are still pending in court.
“The counter terrorism unit and other anti graft units handled 410 cases ranging from online fraud, threat to life, cybercrime, stealing and cultism, while 164 suspects were arrested (96 male and 68 female).
“The 25 Grievance Management Centres across the state have increased to 45 centers, which handled 365 cases and resolved 345 cases through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
“In the area of protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI) of the government, 39 cases were reported and were promptly dealt with,” he said.
Ibiloye said the statistics showed a reduction in the number of reported cases compared to 2024, which was put at 2,900.
The commandant attributed the success to the increase in public awareness and collaborative efforts of the security agencies to stamp out crime in the state.
He promised to consolidate on the achievement and commended Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Minister of Interior, and the NSCDC Commandant General for the support given to the corps in the state.
“The command has empowered the CNAI department in the area of capacity building and intelligence gathering to be able to efficiently provide the necessary security for these assets of the government.
“95 personnel have been trained on weapon handling, combat craft and tactical maneuvering, and they are presently helping out in providing security for the good people of Ondo State.
“The female squad, our all-female arms-bearing team, in collaboration with the safe school unit, has done a vulnerability assessment on all 1601 schools in the state.
“The assessment was done with the goal of sensitising the school community on their personal security under the Safe School Initiative of the Commandant General,” he said.
Ibiloye thanked journalists for their professionalism, partnership and unwavering interest in public safety, saying the command remained resolute, proactive and people-centred in the discharge of its constitutional mandate.
“The scorecard of 2025 reflects our collective efforts, while our 2026 projections signal a renewed commitment to smarter intelligence-led operations, deeper collaboration, and sustained community partnership.
“Security, we must emphasise, is a shared responsibility, and we count on the continued support of the media, the government and the good people of Ondo State in building a safer, more resilient society,” he said.
