PDP will shock critics in 2027 election, says Kogi chair

The Kogi State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Muhammed Sanni Gambo, has expressed confidence that the party will make a strong comeback in the 2027 general election and defeat the ruling party in the governorship contest.

Gambo stated this in Lokoja on Saturday while speaking with the press after a meeting with party members.

He based his optimism on what he described as “widespread disenchantment with the current administration and nostalgia for the PDP’s past governance.”

“We are confident that come 2027, it will be a total sweep,” he said, attributing existing infrastructure in the state to the PDP’s previous rule.

The PDP chairman urged the people of Kogi State to remain united and calm, assuring them that the party’s return to power would end their suffering and usher in development.

Punch reports that the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, made similar comments on Friday shortly after meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, suggesting that the PDP might spring a surprise in the 2027 elections.
