The Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti, Ekiti State, Dr Olagoke Erinomo, has taken over as the acting Chief Medical Director of the facility.
This followed the completion on December 31, 2025, of the two terms of the immediate past CMD, Prof. Adekunle Ajayi.
A statement from the hospital on Friday, stated that Erinomo, who assumed the role of acting CMD on January 1, 2026, promised sustained qualitative healthcare service delivery.
It added that Erinomo, in his New Year message, urged staff of the hospital “to look forward to the New Year with resilience and renewed hope, as we continue the task of providing quality and compassionate healthcare services to our clients and communities.
“We thank God for bringing us this far, as we trust Him to make the year a good one for every member of staff and our beloved hospital.
“On behalf of the Board and Management of the hospital, I thank you for your trust, dedication, and sacrifice, which have built our reputation as a healthcare family that truly cares,” the statement quoted the acting CMD as saying.
Ajayi had while handing over to Erinomo on December 31, 2025, stated, “Today marks the official transition of leadership of this hospital to you as the acting CMD.
“It has been a fulfilling and rewarding eight years of service, and I am profoundly grateful to everyone for their steadfast support, which has been instrumental in the successful completion of my tenure.
“I extend my best wishes for your success as you embark on a new chapter in the hospital’s leadership. May you achieve great success and be celebrated. I wish you all a Happy New Year.”
Responding, the acting CMD congratulated Ajayi on the successful completion of his eight-year tenure, which was “marked by numerous breakthroughs, accomplishments, and exemplary performance.”
Erinomo thanked the former CMD and wished him well in his future endeavours.
The Federal Government will announce the substantive CMD of the facility in due course.
